Stronger Together Against Racism

The Stronger Together Against Racism (STAR) project aims to foster social cohesion, particularly through building the capacity of allies and ally organisations to respond to incidents of and disclosures of racial discrimination.
The project has been funded by the Department of Premier and Cabinet under the LARI grant stream, and is being delivered in partnership with the Communities' Council on Ethnic Issues (CCOEI).
The STAR project is a continuation of the good work initiated by ECLC’s anti-racism project ‘Amplifying Community Voices in the East’ (ACVE) that worked to empower community leaders to reflect on their own experiences to help inform efforts to address structural racism in our communities, governments and institutions.
STAR will include development of a new local anti-racism brochure, two additional ACVE video translations, professional development opportunities for local councils and community health partners, and an exciting community forum later this year.
The STAR project is made possible by funding from the Department of Premier and Cabinet, LARI grant stream Local Anti-Racism Initiatives Grants Program 2024-26.
ECLC is delivering STAR in partnership with CCOEI, Access Health and Community, Knox City Council, and Manningham Council.
