Eastern Elder Abuse Prevention Network (EEAN)

The Eastern Elder Abuse Prevention Network (EEAN) is a network of organisations in the east of Melbourne working to prevent, raise awareness of, and respond to elder abuse. Together, the EEAN is working towards a world where all people regardless of age are safe, valued and respected.
The EEAN has over 160 members from more than 50 organisations, including local and state government, health, legal, police, aged care, family violence, financial counselling, and multicultural agencies. The EEAN is known for its long-standing expertise and commitment to working collaboratively with partner organisations in the east and is led by Eastern Community Legal Centre.
EEAN members receive regular email updates, invitations to key events, and invitations to regular meetings. To join the mailing list or find out more, please contact Jill Exon: jille@eclc.org.au

EEAN Resources
Toolkit for Elder Abuse Prevention Networks: working towards a community of practice approach.
Funded by DFFH, this Toolkit was developed and designed by ECLC to support elder abuse prevention networks (EAPNs) with a practical resource to strengthen practice through capacity building and peer learning drawing on a Community of Practice model.
This resource provides a snapshot of the important role of EAPNs, including key resources, and how to work together to progress primary prevention of elder abuse and drive greater impact across Victoria.
Preventing Abuse of Older People Framework
Developed by ECLC and the Eastern Elder Abuse Network (EEAN), this tool called Preventing Abuse of Older People Framework, was launched at the Victorian Government's World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Breakfast on Tuesday 15 June 2021.
The Framework asks all of us to imagine what a world without ageism looks like and how we can all do more to include and respect people of all ages.
A guide provides some background and other relevant information to help people use and understand the Framework. It also emphasises the important role everyone can play to achieve the shared vision of 'A world where people are safe, valued and respected.'
