The work of Eastern Community Legal Centre would not be possible without the support of our wonderful volunteers. The Centre greatly appreciates the work that our volunteers put in and endeavours to make the experiences of our volunteers as rewarding as possible.
Important Notes
- Eastern Community Legal Centre expects a minimum commitment of six months to any volunteer position with the hope of building an ongoing mutually beneficial relationship with all volunteers.
- Generally, the Centre prefers to utilise volunteers who live within its catchment areas. Details of these catchment areas can be found elsewhere on this website. Applications should be directed to the ECLC office which is closest to your place of residence.

Lawyers

Eastern Community Legal Centre is always looking for volunteer lawyers. Generally, volunteer lawyers at Eastern Community Legal Centre are required to have a practising certificate. Some experience in legal practice is also valued, although not essential.
The work for lawyers at ECLC is both interesting and rewarding. Volunteer lawyers provide assistance to those members of the community who need it most, while also mentoring up and coming law students.

If you would like to apply for any of the above positions, please forward a cover letter and resume to eclc(at)eclc.org.au, attention to the People and Development Co-ordinator, outlining the office you would like to volunteer at, the program that you are interested in and your availability.
Generally, in order to be eligible for the volunteer night service paralegal or volunteer intervention order support service paralegal positions, some experience is required in the position of a Volunteer Reception, Information and Referral Worker.
Positions in the above roles are highly sought after. Although there may not be any positions available when you apply, ECLC recruits regularly throughout the year. Your application will be put on a waiting list and you will be contacted when any suitable positions arise.
