assisting cald clients
ECLC is well placed to assist Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) clients. When making an appointment with ECLC, please let us know if you require an interpreter.
use of interpreters
There is no cost for the use of an interpreter to translate the legal advice given in your appointment.
When making an appointment, please let ECLC know what language you speak if you are not confident with English.
ECLC will organise an interpreter for your session. The interpreters role is to translate what the lawyer is saying to you. We prefer to organise an interpreter for you so that you do not have to rely on family to interpret. This helps you to keep your legal matter confidential and ensures that the information passed on to you is accurate.
If you cannot come to your appointment and an interpreter has been booked for your session, please call ECLC immediately so that we can cancel the interpreter. ECLC pays for the interpreter services and so if you do not come to your appointment and the interpreter has arrived, ECLC still has to pay.
